Metz Ridgerunners

Founded in the fall of 1972 by Wm. (Toad) Kempf, David Winter, and Sandy Gurgel with the cooperation of Tapp's Tap, Metz, WI (Joe & Doris Tapp, proprietors), the club was named after the town of Metz and bar owner Joe Tapp's nickname of Ridgerunner.

In 1973 the club was incorporated and shortly thereafter joined the AWSC with 100% membership. In 1975 the club started working with county agencies to develop some of the most scenic, enjoyable, groomed trails connecting Waushara, Winnebago, and Waupaca counties.
